Perpetual Adoration Begins at St. Louis in Austin

Perpetual Adoration is scheduled to begin Monday March 5th at the new Adoration Chapel at St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin. As Catholics, we believe Jesus is truly and completely present in the Blessed Sacrament, so this is an incredible opportunity to spend time with him.

The chapel will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and it is imperative that Jesus never be left alone. The St. Louis YA group is currently seeking volunteers to fill one of the more difficult timeslots: Fridays from 4 to 5 in the morning. If you are interested in this commitment, please contact the Amy Allert, St. Louis Director of Youth and Young Adults at amy.allert@st-louis.org and 512.454.0384 x205.

Wanted: Catholic Praise Band

Hi, my name is Melisa Kanzelberger. I am an experienced member of a praise band (in college before attending UT for grad school) and I am interested in getting another one started. It would be great to start one up for capitalc. I noticed with all the talent on Wednesday night that there is certainly a great pool of people to pick from to make a great praise band. I’m sort of the auxiliary player (fiddle and vocals), but I’d be happy to recruit, organize and play. I had considered doing it earlier, but with the limited pool of catholics in a single chuch, there just didn’t seem to be enough people to start such a group.

At: Tres Amigos (Highway 183 @ Anderson Mill, Austin)
Speaker: Freddy Carnes
Topic: The Parables: Keepin’ it Austin

You’ve heard The Parable of the Sower, but have you heard it set on Mt. Bonnell, The Town Lake Hike and Bike Trails and IH 35? You might have heard the Prodigal Son, but did you know that he was set to goto the University of Texas? He took his father’s money and went to the Rolling Stones concert. Finally, the Good Samaritan was actually a Good Mexican that helped a handicapped man with a speech impediment. Stay tuned!
