I hadn't been on a retreat since my confirmation and wasn't sure what to expect of the weekend. I was really happy with what I got out of it. Everyone was really welcoming and open. It was a good time to reflect. It is often hard to do this as a student, I feel like I am always busy and everything becomes 'important'. Arise also gave me an opportunity to meet other young Catholics that were really inspiring. I came away feeling refreshed and ready to be more active in my spiritual life – ready to bring God into everyday trials through prayer. The kids out there really need some roll models in their lives and if you can go for the week it is completely worth it. Its also fun to meet some great other people from around the country. I'd previously been a bit leery of charismatic type of worship, but I'll never forget this service.
