Fr. Jayme Mathias

Lent: Holy Walk or Home Run?

Whether you come to this mission singing, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” or “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” you’ll enjoy Fr. Jayme’s interweaving of sports and spirituality, wisdom and wit, the Gospel of Luke and daily life. We’ll reflect on the enslavement of great sin, and the liberation of even greater grace. By the conclusion of our time together, we’ll find ourselves running back toward the arms of a loving God who waits to welcome us home. A home run!

Evening One:
Monkey Business: What’s the Hook?
Have you ever built a monkey trap? During our first evening together, we’ll explore the captivating and titillating temptation to say and do those things we know we “shouldn’t” say and do and we’ll invite God into the messiness of our daily lives to assist us in overcoming the temptation to turn our back on God and others.
Evening Two:
Waking Up: What Time Is It?
God created the world “good,” …and God gifted us with free will. Despite the presence of sin in our world, God’s grace is at work, transforming us and calling us back.
Evening Three:
Homecoming: What’s Love Got to Do, Got to Do with It?
We’ve said what we’ve said. We’ve done what we’ve done. In a word, we’ve sinned. Now, as we’re contemplating turning around, we reflect on God’s reaction to our shortcomings.

All evenings begin at 6:30p.m. with a Rosary, presentation begins at 7p.m.. No registration is necessary, all are welcome. St. Louis Church, 7601 Burnet Road, 78757

What a great series. Fr. Jayme, thank you for helping us "mark off some space" for Jesus this Lenten season!
